Well last year was a year with many experiences.
Good ones, bad ones.
Some were left behind with last year, some were brought along to this year.
Well at the end of it, I had a good trip.
And my first day of the new year was spent on a flight and mostly filled with sleep.

Well, the holidays is in 2 weeks!
I think most of us are desperate for it.

Two more weeks to end of the semester.

These are the worst.

Everybody is worn out.

Out of paper, out of ink, out of money too.

Out of our minds at times.

Going somewhere during study week.

Somewhere I always wanted to go.

And I hope that everything goes well and everybody is healthy.

Time to faint on the bed awhile.

It used to be so hard, that bed of mine.

Like sleeping on a piece of plank.

But when tired, it feels almost like a regular bed.

New book!

Bedtime reading only or I would have finished it within a day if I wanted to.

My species was changed so I have to re-do parts of my proposal.

The subjects this sem aren't the best.

But I'll work on it.

Sometimes I think about things.

What would happen if I ventured into field work?

These blisters.

Somehow they limit things.

You can't walk around in the forest when you can't even wear a pair of shoes.

The cold sweat and cringing with every step I make.

I have to admit that the way I tear off dead skin is almost too disgusting for the unfamiliar.

And when people show me their little blisters not even the size of a peanut, I could not be emphatic.

It is regretful at times when I show no sign of sympathetic emotion for their pain.

I'm the worst type of people for comfort when you have a blister.

Actually, the point is, I'm interested in hiking.

I should walk more these days.

Well here goes one post full of disgusting rants and distractions.

A new study year, new semester, new room, new bed, new people.

Oh the new mattress was so tough I thought I was lying down on the hard board underneath it instead.

I could not get used to daily prayers echoing at dawn, seeping through the curtains and jolting me awake.

Undisturbed sleep is important for me.

Because often, nightmares find me during the intervals of waking and sleeping.

Hmm I should invest in some mattress padding and ear buds.

Summer holiday.

Back from my holidays.

Love Yellowstone National Park.

It's memorable really.

The crowd waiting for Old Faithful geyser.

One thing it's really beautiful.

Another was when I had gastric pain, shivered throughout the cold night, vomited and was feverish that I had an anguish look on my face all day.

Memorable eh.

A little girl in our bus peeked every other minute and asked why big sister (me) was still sleeping ahah how cute.

Despite the long travelling hours,

I want to go there again.

Mudslide! D:

We skipped Bryce Canyon though.

First there was mudslide which blocked the road.

So, we turned back.

(2.5 hours wasted wth)

At a rest stop, the womenfolk of 2 buses queued for the restroom.

(Guys never had to queue!)

The problem is there were only 2 cubicles for 80 bladder-full people.

It was freezing cold.

Then the sky decided to shit hail wth.

Hail aiming for your head.

One day before Hurricane Irene hit NYC.

Gloomy skies loomed over Times Square.

But it was still crowded as ever.

Our Sunday flight was moved to Tuesday.

On Monday, it was so sunny that there wasn't a cloud in the sky.

At one point, I was nauseous just by the thought of burgers and Chinese buffets.

But McD there had bacon in their burgers.

Plus nuggets come in 10 pieces.

Here, it's 6 pieces. That's the extra kid meal there.

Still jet lagged.

And adapting to things.

Out of touch with everybody lately.

I do apologize.

Kek Lok Si temple.

Back from Penang trip.

Armed with brother's car, tourist maps and Google map directions.

Then, the rest we just walked or took the free CAT bus.

Driving there requires concentration.

Especially the easily-distracted me.

Wishing ribbons!

I wished for family safety.

There were one-way streets everywhere.

You hear a car horn every other second.

Motorcycles wheel around and about at your sides.

But I thank god that most drivers I met where kind.

Maybe I had a sort of terrified look on my face.

Or the car had an obvious non-Penang car plate.

They just let me pass.

Thank you very much.

I can (nearly) be a tour guide now!

Time to finish my proposal in 3 days.

Trying to digest never-ending journals.

I have work next week.

Then off to holiday.

Then back to new semester.

How nervous.

Truthfully, I'm a little scared.

Okay, a lot.

One month into my intern!

Field trip tomorrow.

I will report the number of blisters after it later.

Then just few weeks after it, maybe a part time job.

Then, a mini trip.

And then a bigger trip.

Which leaves me little time to do my proposal.

I'm a sloth when it comes to referencing and citation.

It takes too much time but you have little choice.

Said goodbye to the old house.

Doubt I will return kuantan this year.

I did start to pay more attention to plants though.

Lately with the finals around,

Tonight,
A June beetle flew at my face.

I thought this only happens at uni.
Every night at least one will come inside my dorm room.
Then proceed to say hi.
By giving me a back hug.
Or giving my hair a massage.
Or hide under my bed,buzz and keep me stay wide awake.
Every single night.

So why is it here tonight at home?

Workload increasing with each passing month.
October is the last and the worst.
Stressed max.
On the verge of going mad.
Oh I probably already am.
Assignments, reports, exam, assignments, field trip, reports, assignments, exam, reports, assignments then exam.

Anyway went to Gunung Gading to pick mushrooms.
And saw,
Rafflesia bud!

I walked past it and didn't know. . .
Then turned back to see it. . .
A rotten cabbage looking thing on the ground.
Will bloom next month!
But finals is next month. . .
So probably no time to see it bloom aww.
Apparently if you touch the bud, it will die.
So no touching okay!

Large roots in mangrove forest!
Super strong.
Had to leave fast because the sea water was rising.
When we went in, it was only to our heels.
But when we went out, it was already to our knees.
Oh, plenty of mosquito there.
So must put insect repellent okay!

High tides at Lundu beach.
The sky and sea looks reallllyyy near together.
Or did the sky fall?
So no swimming okay!

Telakong tree.
Talllllll.
Anyway they use the young shoots as traditional medicine when you vomit blood.
So go find one when you vomit blood okay!
